If you must have ports open and a separate DDNS configuration you'll want to consider either a split brain DNS setup (where local DNS resolves these addresses to local LAN IPs) or adding both WAN and LAN IPs to your DNS record so it falls back when it can't connect. This might be causing you some issues if you're trying to connect to a DDNS open port as that may not have internal / external addresses configured. Unless you have a definitive need QuickConnect is more secure than opening ports directly and somewhat less secure than a VPN. I'd close ports and drop UPnP if you're using QuickConnect. You can try restarting the app and see if that helps. If you restart the app it will usually notice the change as it will use new DNS details and not attempt to use its cached value.
